Election Spurs Lots of Calls to Our Office!
Our schedule is filling up fast!
Something has changed since the presidential election. Can you hear the sigh of relief? The country is moving on and people are taking action--even when it comes to their teeth.
"I'm calling for a consult to talk about whitening and veneers." "I'm calling to set up that long-overdue hygiene and check-up visit." This is what we're hearing every day, as our appointment schedule is filling up fast.
The urgency reflects not only a concern with maintaining health, but with maintaining appearance. Our patients seem to be focusing on the basics.
And they continue--especially in an uncertain job market--to make sure that they look their best.
After all, a new administration brings new opportunities for many of our patients, and they want to be ready for any thing.
Be well...judi

Shackled by high energy costs and a growing reluctance of Americans to travel, Alberta's tourism industry, including that in Calgary, is suffering as it enters the busiest season of the year -- and just days ahead of the Calgary Stampede.
Figures released Monday by Alberta Tourism, Parks and Recreation show Calgary's hotel occupancy rate during the first three months of the year was down nearly five per cent from a year earlier, and numerous other indicators are off as well. Hotel industry officials say the weakening occupancy trend has worsened as 2008 unfolds and clearly points to shrinking business.
"We're seeing in the industry and specifically in hotels, that this year, definitely, will be down," Michael Sieger, president of the Calgary Hotel Association, said Monday. Sieger noted that 2007 was a very strong year and that in that context a retrenchment is easier to manage, "however, it's definitely going to be a bit slower this year than in the past."
